Destination Amsterdam

Amsterdam is the capital of the Netherlands. The name Amsterdam originates from a dam on the Amstel River. The city is often called 'Venice of the North' due to the many beautiful canals. Amsterdam hosts more than 750.000 residents from 175 different countries. Amsterdam is of course well know for its beauty and museums (such as the Van Gogh museum). There are however many other things to do. Come and find out while attending ECToH 2011!

Amsterdam has a temperate climate with mild winters, cool summers and precipitation throughout the year. A good climate for the city makes it easy to visit throughout the year. Temperature on average in March/April is about 15 degrees Celcius.

Did you know that there are alsmost as many bikes as inhabitants in Amsterdam? Some claim the number is even higher.
