Born July 3, 1961 in Milan.

Director of Pulmonology Department, Fondazione IRCCS Istituto Nazionale dei Tumori (INT), Milan, Italy.

Specialization School in Respiratory Diseases, Università degli Studi, Milan.

Chief of Antismoking Center of INT of Milan. Referent for the activities of INT in the field of environmental education and respiratory prevention in schools, companies and anti-smoking policy. Coordinator for the creation of the multidisciplinary clinic for suspected or early diagnosis of lung disease of INT for clinical and research purposes.

Principal Investigator of the European TackSHS project of Horizon2020 since 2016.

Author or co-author of more than 100 articles as well as book chapters regarding onco-respiratory medicine and tobacco-related topics. Author of two manuals containing suggestions on how to quit smoking: “Spegnila!” (Rizzoli Ed.) and “Smetti di fumare con gusto, senza ingrassare” (Sperling & Kupfer Ed.). Author of the book “I tuoi scudi antismog” (Sonzogno Ed.) on how to protect yourself from indoor and outdoor air pollution.

Scientific consultant for the newspaper “Corriere della Sera”, for the radio program “Obiettivo Salute” on Radio 24 and for the tv program “Le Iene”.

Author, and co-author of web sites for the dissemination of smoke- related topics for schools.

Professor, under a contract, at many universities and courses (lectures on smoke, lung diseases, lung cancer, prevention and air pollution).

Correlator of 7 thesis of degree in Pharmacy and a thesis of Master in Oncological Pharmacology.

Current President of the Italian Society of Tobaccology (SITAB).

Past Secretary of the Study Group of Epidemiology and Prevention of the Italian Respiratory Society (SIP/IRS).
