BIO
Cornel Radu-Loghin is the Secretary General of the European Network for Smoking and Tobacco Prevention (ENSP) — a leading organization committed to reducing tobacco use and protecting public health across the continent. With an impressive 40 years of professional experience, and 32 of those dedicated to public health, Cornel brings unmatched expertise, vision, and passion to everything he does.
His journey began with the founding of Aer Pur Romania, the first NGO in the country devoted to defending non-smokers’ rights. From that pioneering step, he’s gone on to become one of the most respected voices in tobacco control, actively engaging with European institutions, national coalitions, and global networks to advocate for a tobacco-free future.
What truly sets Cornel apart is not just his deep knowledge of EU policy or his experience in building effective public health strategies — it’s his ability to think creatively, see challenges from fresh perspectives, and connect with people from all walks of life. His leadership at ENSP has helped bring together some of the best experts in Europe, turning ENSP into a true hub of excellence in this field.
He’s been recognized for his work with several prestigious awards, including the World Health Organization’s World No Tobacco Day Award, and continues to be a driving force for change.
