In the field of tobacco and nicotine control, she has been actively involved in research and scientific dissemination for over fifteen years focusing on the prevention and treatment of tobacco and nicotine dependence, contributing to the development and implementation of effective tobacco control strategies. At the national level, she is a member of the ISS scientific committee responsible for implementing initiatives to combat tobacco and nicotine use, particularly among young people. She has also contributed to several key initiatives, including the ISS Annual Conference on Tobacco use and the National Health Service, held in celebration of the World No Tobacco Day, and the development of the Clinical Practice Guideline for the treatment of tobacco and nicotine dependence (2020–2023), with the roles of coordinator of the scientific secretariat and developer.
Over the past decade, at the European level, she has actively contributed to cooperation, sustainability, and knowledge exchange by supporting the implementation of the Tobacco Products Directive through participation in the first and second Joint Actions on Tobacco Control (2017-2024), as well as in the Joint Action on Health Promotion and Disease Prevention, including Smoke- and Aerosol-Free Environments, which has recently been launched (2025-2029). In these Joint actions, she has been country coordinator and leader of Work Package 4 on Sustainability actions, has participated in activities and tasks of other Work Packages and contributed to the strengthening of collaboration among member states and the advancement of evidence-based tobacco control policies across Europe.
