Cloé Geboers is a (Research) Strategist Prevention and Thematic Lead Tobacco Control at the Dutch Cancer Society (KWF Kankerbestrijding). As Thematic Lead, she drives KWF’s strategic agenda on smoking across advocacy, implementation, and partnerships. She is a member of the steering committee of the Health Funds for a Smokefree Netherlands, where she oversees KWF’s contribution to this collaboration between the Dutch Heart Foundation, the Dutch Cancer Society, and the Lung Foundation, aimed at achieving a smokefree generation. In addition, she shapes KWF’s research strategy for the primary prevention of cancer.  

Cloé holds a PhD in Health Promotion from Maastricht University and a Master’s degree in Health Economics and Management (EU-HEM). Her doctoral research explored the behavioural effects of tobacco taxation in the Netherlands. She has published in international peer-reviewed scientific journals and contributed to policy-relevant research reports commissioned by the Dutch Ministry of Health, Welfare and Sports, translating scientific evidence into actionable public health and fiscal policy.
