a U.S. based non-governmental organization dedicated to supporting global health, international tobacco control efforts and now committed to achieve a world where no one has to die because of tobacco by phasing out the commercialization of non medicinal tobacco products. For over a decade he served as the first Executive Director of the Framework Convention Alliance (FCA), the global alliance of NGOs recognized for its vital role around the FCTC Process. He later helped integrate tobacco control in the UN global development agenda as well as the UN Human Rights and environmental mechanisms. He is the recipient of the American Lung Association-C. Everett Koop Foundation Award and under his direction ASH and FCA received numerous awards including the Luther Terry Award, the WHO World No Tobacco Day Award and the U.S. Surgeon General Health Leadership Award.
